Siri What Song Is Playing? – Not Working

This is so disappointing. So my sister was playing songs on the speaker in the living room. One came up which I liked, so naturally I asked Siri on my MacBook with an M1 Pro processor to identify it. Guess what? It didn’t, it couldn’t.

I tried multiple times using different framings. Nothing worked.

I want my tools to be reliable. I want my tools to work the same way each time. This is not what’s happening here. The Siri voice search using Shazam works OK on iPhone, but I guess it just doesn’t on macOS.

A few years ago, while I still used Pixel, I was in love with Now Playing, which displayed on the Always On display every time something was playing in the room, even when there was no signal. Google used on-device detection models, which worked really well, and that felt like magic.

Sadly, iPhone doesn’t have such a feature, and feature parity for music detection on the Mac is annoying, that’s all.
