Elon Musk On Robots In Tesla’s Shareholder Meeting

Elon Musk on Tesla’s shareholder meeting:

I think we might maybe able to give people — if somebody committed crime — a more humane form of containment of future crime. You say, ‘You now get a free Optimus and it’s going to follow you around and stop you from doing crime.’ But other than that, you get to do anything… You don’t have to put people in prisons and stuff.

This is a big idea and probably one that isn’t possible to realize in the next 10 years, if not more. Even though my feelings about Musk are neutral, I like that we’re (as humans) thinking about the “almost” impossible things we can do. Things that are really far away from the current reality and that just couldn’t be part of our current societal structures.
